Through his extensive business experience, Maurie has a strong track record of success in the establishment, growth and development of multiple businesses throughout the US. He has deep experience in acquisitions and divestitures, negotiating, financial management, strategic planning and legal and regulatory relations.

Having worked with individual business owners as well as corporate acquisitions and divestitures Maurie understands the special considerations of corporations, individuals and families when considering the transition of business ownership. Maurie understands the value of confidentiality, respect for employees and customers, and the value of a well-planned process in developing a succession strategy.

Maurie has been married to his wife,  St. Rosemary, for 26 years, and has three children of whom he is very proud: a daughter beginning a career in Public Ralations, a daughter studying English and Technical Writing at Iowa State University, and a son who is a sophomore at Linn Mar High School.  His hobbies include paying tuition bills.  He is a member of the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, instructor for Junior Achievement, works with Linn Mar band program, and is involved with Habitat for Humanity.

Maurie has served on several boards of directors, including a number associated with Land O'Lakes. He has degrees in Accounting and Economics from Iowa State University and an MBA from Winona State University.

He is the only person to have held the designations of Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Certified Business Intermediary in Iowa and Wisconsin at the same time.
